  • Crash-tested connections of the parapets and the medians to the bridge deck are now required by the AASHTO-LRFD latest specifications. Refer to chapter #13, paragraph 13.7.3.1on the Railing Design... "A railing system and its connection to the deck shall be approved only after they have been shown to be satisfactory through crash testing for the desired performance level."

  • FHWA now states, in no uncertain terms, that " ...railings on bridges on Federal-aid projects must be (or have been) crash tested and meet the acceptance criteria in NCHRP Report ..." (excerpts from the May 14, 1996 Technical Committee, T-7 report)

  • The Clampcrete Barrier System is a Crash tested system approved for PL-2/TL-4 level conditions.
